Ed, I wonder if you could get EAA to give you a little publicity at Air venture if you had three or four flying racers. They seem to be more interested in the little groups within EAA these days. (I am young so my background history is very short...) Neil

In due time that might happen. Jeff is 45 minutes from Oshkosh, and Eric Whyte, one of our members, is close by as well, and is heavily involved with the Airventure Cup race, and when we have done our part (Which is to have 4 airplanes flyable and displayable) I would ask them. I have held several Forums in past years at Oshkosh on Formula Vee and Supervee Air Sports, and will continue to do the same. It would not be wise to contact them till I have something to offer.

Neil, Thanks for the enthusiasm. When the airplanes start to fly, and get proven, we are hoping this ramps up rapidly. There will be much to do, and we will appreciate all the help and encouragement that is available from enthusiasts such as yourself.. Thanks, Ed

In Addition to the occasional Snail Mail 'Supervee Update' which I put out, we are soon going to have a Facebook page for Supervee Air Sports, due to the efforts of Supervee member John Hartgerink. I am helping him with photo acquisition and layout, and a description of what Supervee really is. More info soon……The more exposure and interest that we can generate , the quicker our competitions will become a reality….Ed

Ed, just joined today but this sounds like just what interests me. I can certainly see it's been difficult getting guys motivated - it is a small niche but FV had the same problem. Some friends want to go to Reno with a "Here For The Beer" team just to have the experience and with the objectives of 1) Not coming in last, and 2) Not breaking anything. That's a bit commercial for me and, as was unfortunate about Formula V rules, I cannot personally justify obtaining my instrument and commercial ratings for such a venture. That's just not the type of flying we do around here BUT novelty or exhibition/parade racing for the true "average guy" would be welcome. I understand liability and ensuring competent participants but I suspect my attitude is why so many of these planes have been build as sport planes. I am currently building a MM1 from plans and just purchased a V-Witt project(s/n 13. Wittmans was s/n 10). I want to build light and avoid large stroker engines and have been wondering if there are others with the same interest. Most want an MM1 with full IFR and a 4 HR range. I simply see what these were meant for. Personally, I'll take a certified plane if I want that. Looking forward to hearing more! Dave Kansas City
