Well, Folks, its been a year now for this forum. What do you people think? What do you want? Is this site something worthwhile? It would be great to have more participation, and more members. I think the site is worthwhile, and I hope others do too. We need to get some more airplanes finished, and some more started. Had a guy contact me the other day that wanted to know if I was doing a Forum on Supervee at OSH this year. I told him, sadly, 'no'.....I am doing two forums, on 'Traditional Homebuilding', but need to see more outside interest for a Supervee forum to occur. This is your club. We all need to get involved...Ed Fisher

Hi Ed,
I'll be around and actively posting some updates as things get going over here.
The more I disassembled my recently purchased Sonerai the more I realized I had some projects to do before flying it. It should be back together and airworthy in the coming weeks/months and I still hope to make a race or two with SARL this year. I'd really like to get a few people in the area involved, to share ideas, modifications/improvements, make some local 'practice' runs together, and share our common interest. I'll do my best to promote the sport and try to get some Atlanta people involved. Let's see what 2013 will bring!?!? -Joe

Thanks Joe....What you are describing with getting people involved in your area is what I have been talking about before. There is a thread here on 'team building' that applies to all of us project owners. Thanks for your support....Ed

Ed, I like the site and check in almost every day. I too would like to see more of the projects post progress updates and photos. I plan to get to the Rickett's/Willingham Renegade soon. I will post progress reports. We can all learn something new here. I want to learn some of the wealth of knowledge on this site (ED) of racers and homebuilders, and share both things I know, well maybe the one thing I know, painting. It takes time to build a plane and a website. Lex

Thanks Lex....You are the resident Expert on the Renegade FV, having owned and or flown almost the entire fleet of them at one time or another. I hope you get to start on your project again soon. We all can learn something from others. Thanks for your support....Ed

I am new here but I like the forum for sure. I have been reading about Jeffs plane in various articles for the last few years and am quite impressed to say the least.

Ed,
I have been in a major rework of the hanger from a total paint facility to a sheet metal/fab shop/paint shop. I am almost ready to move the Renegade and begin the rebuild to fly.

Just found the site recently, and am a believer that racing/competition always drives a sport and the exposure will build interest.
I can say ... pictures, history, stories should be the catalyst here. I fell in love with the S1 for 2 reasons ... its looks great, and it WAS a racer.
There has to be pics of the past ... races, planes, the owners and pilots ... in the garage or on the runway.
This stuff feeds the interest. I know there are some original racers out there, sittin in hibernation. Get them out, dust them off ... and make a video. Tell the story .... make it bigger than life. History and story does that ...
Maybe follow along with some of you who are racing currently ... pics of race prep, the race itself, the event, etc.
Just my .02

I have a mental history of many of the Formula V's...and could reminisce for hours...... What I have found, and I am a history nut, is that it is hard to get people to submit a one line story, or a photograph. I welcome members of this site to submit photos and short story's about their project, or former racer. I will be getting some photos of my projects shortly, to submit here..But we need others to do the same. It is encouragement for someone else using this forum.....Ed

July 3rd, 2014……There is not much going on here….Are you guys still interested? It is difficult to try to encourage people to comment about their projects when I am not working on my projects!!! If you have a few minutes, let us know what you are doing….Ed

I think I will call this racer "3 o'clock curfew" as that is when I get the most work completed, from 1-3AM! I'll post some recent photos of the progress this weekend. Happy 4th! Joe

Hi Joe…..Thanks for making a post….We would love to see some photos. We need more involvement here for sure. I have asked Jeff how we can go about it, I think my snail mail newsletters could be twice a year, just to keep people aware of the fact we are thinking about them and their projects. I am open to ideas, but right now we need to try to hold it together….Ed

Hi Ed, I'm a bit embarrassed showing off my work, keep in mind I'm just a beginner at this fabric and glue and you'll certainly see things you would have done differently! It may not be an award winner in the looks department but it will be airworthy and safe. I've learned a lot and can't wait to finish this project so I can get going on the next one (with all this new knowledge and experience!).
