I sent a message to Jeff Lange, as he is north of the V-Witt, in Wisc., to see if he knows anybody in his circle of friends up there who may go buy the project, to keep it in our fold….We shall see…..Ed

I just had a good conversation with the V-Witt owner in Ill., and the project has great welding, and the wings are solid and straight. He has no Idea who built it , he saved it at an auction for an estate, and it was part of a pile of airplane stuff all going together. He also has a Subaru engine, and a two-cylinder VW with accessories and prop….. We need a Supervee person to snatch this up, If I were 800 miles closer, I would bring it home!!…Ed

I bought this project. I live in New Mexico but I am staying long-term with a relative in Wisconsin. If I had been in NM I wouldn't have considered it but it was only an hour's drive from where I am. I had been planning to scratchbuild a V-Witt for some time and had begun assembling bits and pieces, odds and ends. After looking it over I couldn't pass up this opportunity. I bought the 1/2 VW along with it for another project I have already started.

Hi Chris and Welcome to Affordable Air Racing and Supervee Air Sports. That is an excellent project to get involved with. The V-Witts are popular as of recently! Good luck with the project, and E-mail me if you are interested in being on the free Supervee Update mailing list….Ed

Thanks, Ed, I sent you an email.
BTW the project did not include flying & landing wires. I got a quote from ASS corp a few years back that was $2k and change. I've heard that making a personal deal with Bruntons thru Steen Aero Lab can reduce that cost by several hundred $$$ for the identical items. There is a mfr in New Zealand who is producing streamlined tie rods as well, and at reasonable prices, but the shipping really takes a bite. There is a lot to do before I get to that point, though...

Yes, and maybe between now and when you need the wires, a used set might even turn up. There's plenty of fuselage work to keep you busy…..
