You'd think the organizers would recognize the significance of these events and make them concurrent not overlapping.

I just had an e-mail with Jim Vliet, and he was unaware that the schedule had been printed....He was wondering if the times had been decided yet....I cannot do a forum later in the day, My voice cannot compete with the warbirds air shows......

Our original plan had been for me to attend Ed's Supervee forum, and there have the reunion of Formula V pilots/owners/people. I had a short presentation to add onto Ed's, specifically what it would take to get Formula V pylon air races restarted (in summary, not easy).
However....in spite of my SPECIFIC request that Ed's Supervee forum and my "Remembering Steve Wittman" forum not be scheduled at the same time and date....well, it happened. I suggest that everyone interested in future competition events attend Ed's Supervee forum, and I will stop by immediately after my forum is completed to say hi.
My "Remembering Steve Wittman" forum is planned to be a historical photo & video presentation on Steve's entire aviation career with emphasis on his air racing exploits during the 1930's, postwar Unlimited and Goodyear racing, and the early days of the Formula V concept, and mentioning Buttercup, Tailwind, Oshkosh airport and his fatal crash. My purpose is to keep Steve's memory alive so that people recognize his many contributions to aviation, air racing and the Oshkosh community.
Ed, perhaps I should post that "what would it take to get Formula V pylon air races restarted" as a new topic on this message board?

Jim, ABSOLUTELY.....What it would take to get going again with pylon racing could be well outlined by you. You have led FV thru the ups and downs for decades....A very relevant topic that should be on here......
