I have a friend who has possibly decided to sell a once flying Renegade Formula V...It needs some work, but as I obtain more facts on the bird, I will provide it here. Part of what I want to do is dig up info on old FV racers, or projects, and make the info available to the group. For instance, there are tons of partially built Sonerai 1's out there, it's just not easy to find them.... Obtaining a 'project' like this can help a person getting involved get a head start, sometimes at less $$$ than the face value of the materials.....Ed Fisher

Ed..... That is a great idea, I have talked with many people who would get involved, but due to "life", they don't have time to do a "Full" build. Taking over a project would appeal to them.....How can we find all those unfinished projects? ...I keep an eye on Barnstormers and Ebay, too bad there Isn't a database !

Ron....This is where being 'unified' pays off.... One of the reasons why Jeff and I started this forum...... Everybody knows somebody who knows somebody.....and on and on....In the '70's, When I was heavily involved with VW Beetles, Karmahn Ghias, and Busses, I got into a network, of sorts, of people with like interests. (Way before the Internet)... Once people know what you are about, strange things happen....Like trying to get out the front door of my house one morning, the screen door wouldn't open, 'cause there was a 1600c.c. longblock engine on the porch, up against the door, with a note...'please take care of me, I need a new home'... Things will magically appear....Usually when I least expect it, and most usually when I am flat broke for hobby spending..... Try running an ad. Barnstormers has worked well to connect sellers with buyers.... I know there are a bunch of Sonerai 1's out there, partially built. My 'Blueberry' was probably the 5th or 6th Sonerai one to fly, but my plans serial number was #175.....John sold a bunch of plans early on. Lots of the serial numbers got turned into partially built airplanes... There's also the custom built option, for those who don't feel they want to weld. I have sold many fuselages. It takes time, and they are not cheap, but they are solid and light. A few years back I bought a Sonerai 1 that was technically flyable, but was 'started' by a real craftsman, and finished by someone who was NOT. I paid $3,500 for it, taxxied it around, then decided to just part it out. Going back to the bare bones with it would have produced a very nice Sonerai, but then, I decided to just build the 'Veebee' instead... I am always looking for that 'airplane in a barn', and whenever I hear of one, I will make it known thru this forum....I, myself, don't need any more projects, but would surely like to discover more, to help others get a head start....Ed

Ron I know someone who may have a dual ignition GP rebuilt 1915 for sale a little later, with the option of a Diehl mount with starter. Right now its on the nose of my IILS, about to be replaced with a 2180 I am rebuilding. NW Iowa. And no, I will not leave it on your steps. ;D
