The Wagner Witt had all this bondo along the bottom longeron? It was intermittent but along both sides the entire length as shown. It appears to be an attempt to fair the fabric from the tubing to the first longeron or was it a way to glue a stringer directly. I can't see how that would be necessary. Was bondo use some trick they were using to try to gain an aerodynamic advantage? Dave Kansas City

I definitely would remove all that Bondo…It's heavy. What I have done on my last three Sonerais, on the lower longeron, where there is the usual shape change 'kinks' that Sonerai's have, is to buy 8' pieces of wood angle trim, at home depot's aviation wood aisle. I bonded it to the already epoxied lower longeron with T-88….It really smoothes things out, and is tons lighter than bondo. Cant figure out how to get a photo on here , so I will try to send a photo to your e-mail address, OR, you can go to our Facebook page for Supervee Air Sports and see two of my Sonerai's with this treatment done….Ed

All logical. Without this addition my frame would look a little faceted. I will use shorter insertions of "smirf poop" or other lightweight filler for such "stand-offs" Dave

Used T-88 to attach "plastic" corner trim last eve. I hope its rigid enough to not crush under the fabric tension. I do NOT want all that filler under it to help it hold shape. Someone at our cookout the other night suggested expanding foam. The Super Fill(or whatever smirf poop is) would set up by the time I had the moulding taped in place. Since it is now attached I can go along and shoot small 1" globs of foam where it bows away from the longerons. Once set up that should be light and prevent collapse between stations. Dave

Dave, in this area on Beetlebomb, I used small cut pieces of wood cap strip glued between the longeron and the 'stringer'…….just support it as best you can to aide against fabric pull…..
