Has anyone used the 11X4.00 X 5 tires? They used to called Lambs and were popular on Long EZs, etc. If my assumptions are correct they fit a 5” rim but are narrower. They come in 2-ply up to 8-ply or so. I wonder how light weight the 4-ply would be? I have had a hard time finding tire weights with the exception of Air Hawks and the like at 4.4lbs. Hoping the smaller tires would be lighter as well as a narrower cross section. Dave

For what it is worth, Dave, the Supervee rules package requires a 500 by 5 tire size......

My reasoning....a forced landing on a short Outback cross country race is probably more survivable with the slightly larger tire.......The IF-1's are using smaller tires, but they for the most part are right over a paved runway during a race....

Thanks, Ed. I already ordered them but should have. I trouble finding another use when needed. These 11X4X5s are only 4-ply but are more substantial than I expected. Might even put them on the MM1 when hat project progresses. Dave
