I have a purple Renegade that was previously flown with a 65hp Continental. I would recommend a VW power plant. It will need a recover or repair of fuselage fabric and some TLC. Photos are on another recent post, "Renegade factory". I have another project so I surely do not need this one. No logs or paperwork. I would like to trade for raw materials for the Gee Bee, tubing, hardware, instruments or R985 parts or tools. What do you have laying around? In a pinch I would take money. PS I could also use several sheets of aluminum. 6061,5052, 3003 etc. in .063, .040 and .032. new 12D30 HS prop hub parts. I need just about everything, even more details of the originals construction. Lex www.BrewsterCorsair.com"an ego is no match for gravity"

Another Renegade is on Ebay……Again…... A couple months ago it was on there. I called the owner, and then talked to Lex Cralley, Renegade expert, and turns out he used to own it. It has flown , and from the pictures, looks like it is down for re-build. I asked the seller to contact me if the deal fell thru, which it must have…And they did not contact me….Some commenter without the facts made a damaging, erroneous report about Formula Vee, and the safety record. Wish I knew who that was…. It allegedly sold at 990 bucks the first time, but now is up there again for 500 bucks. Heres a chance to get a ton of stuff for a Supervee project for very little cash……I already have three Supervee Projects, Or I would have already gotten this one…..C'mon people, look into this….!!!….Ed

The Renegade went at the auction for $1,025.00………I hope the person who got it does something positive with it, and joins our group.

This is Amazing……..That same Renegade I described here is no Ebay….AGAIN….People need to take purchasing stuff seriously!…This is the third time….The Ironic part is that just 4 days ago I drove thru the area where it is, I mean I was probably 4 miles from it….hauling a Cassutt fuselage. I wish somebody in our group would buy it and get involved!!!!! Ed

Ed, It looks fairly complete and not too far but I have the newly acquired Witt Vee project along with the MM project going. Add two certified planes and and a 103 and I simply have no room. Would be nice to see it built up. Dave

Dave, welcome to the group, Yes, I share in the same desire for a Supervee, I want to use the small 1600 c.c. engine in Beetlebomb to see how fast I can go with airframe cleanups, not more power. I should know this, but which V-Witt did you buy?…Original builder name?….. The Ebay Renegade does need to get scooped up by one of our members. Email me at raceair77@gmail.com with your postal mailing address and I will put you on the Supervee Update mailing list…..Ed Fisher

Ed, I have talked to you previously about buying an aircraft. I am 6'2". Would I fit in the Renegade? I still have a soft spot for a v-witt, though.

Neil, Yes, I remember you….This one on Ebay right now would 'probably' fit you as it has a higher than normal headrest for this type…..Of course, it depends on where your height is, in the torso or legs. Cassutt type airframes usually have plenty of legroom, and the headrest is usually built to be "6" above pilot's eyes" as used to be called out on the original Cassutt plans…..The Renegade is not a Cassutt…….But it is very similar….. I have a friend who has a V-witt for sale, I probably already told you about it. It is located in the Dayton, Ohio area and is a project. I have mentioned it here in this forum before……Ed

Neil..Yes , It is. A knowledgeable friend who is into Biplane and Formula 1 racing already, and it is going to be in our Supervee family…Will let him introduce himself…. I was worried that it would have gone to someone who actually thought it was an Ultralight…. We are gaining members and airplanes!!!! Activity Breeds Activity !!!!!….. Let me know if you want more info on my friends V-Witt project…..Ed

Ed, Definitely interested. Dependent on two things, at 6'2" (mostly legs) will I fit and what are good options to get it transported least expensively. I figured I could Uhaul it back for about $1,500.

I don't know the headrest height of this particular V-Witt project….The old formula Vee rules stated that, from the center of seat, to top of canopy , must be a minimum of 36"….Have someone measure you up in the sitting position….. I contacted my friend for an update on the status of selling the V Witt…I asked him to tell me all what goes with it, and an acceptable asking price….Will get back with you…Ed
