If someone is serious about getting involved in Supervee, I will sell my SL-1 project for a reasonable price. Was a flying aircraft, very light, and fast. Currently in re-build, and I have no time right now. Serious?...contact me at raceairdesigns@hotmail.com Ed

Ed,
Is that the "Wood" as in the Wood Bros. of the Tampa FL area? I had a hanger in Brandon FL in the mid eighties. I wondered through the hanger they once had and bought a left over prop hub extension (Wittman casting) and some other parts. I knew their father well. Now you will just say "no" it's from someone else?
You know you are getting old when you have a connection with a lot of projects!

Lex...Yup.....Actually Stan and Steve Wood...Prop makers, etc. The airplane was built in Arizona, migrated to Florida, and spent time in the Tampa Bay area, then Orlando, Which is where Jim Vliet and I picked it up. Jim had planned to campaign it with his V-witt, and the Wood racer, #31, made it to my shop, where I added some much needed fin area, and re-painted it. It ended up being thru a couple more owners before it was involved in a engine failure on departure, (dual carb problems) with Rick Leonard at the controls, and was substantially damaged. I have owned it twice since then, and have done all of the repair work on it to date..Charlie Terry said it would do about 180 flat out with no wheelpants.!!!..Ed

I have decided to keep the SL-1 project, and have made progress on it over the last two weekends. I will complete this one first, then start working on the Raceair 'Veebee' after that.....Ed

Now that I have been working on the Sonerai Beetlebomb, #14, and I have the Raceair Veebee, #77 in storage for a future project, I really don't 'need' a 'third' supervee.......Anyone sincere about getting involved with Supervee and a project could buy the #31 airplane from me reasonably.......Are you out there?...ED

Okay, I am bringing up this offer again, as I do not have the time, or money, to work on three Supervees…..The #31 racer, N31549, is going to have to go…… I have a set of V-witt wings that go with it, the fuselage rear spar carry thru needs a slight mod. to make the V-witt wings fit.. I have the flying/landing wires as well. I am open to reasonable offers…….We need moore people acquiring projects and working on them….Ed

We thought we might have #31 sold, but the man was too tall to fit. For anyone over 6'-1", it won't work. I am 5'-8 1/2", 225 pounds. I fit fine, and it feels about like a Cassutt cockpit…… So, still need to find #31 a new home, so I can work on #14 and #77 again….Ed
