The Northwoods Air Race is just over one month away!
We have a new course that will give us a beautiful tour of the fall colors. The race will start and end at Waupaca (KPCZ) with turns at KCLI, KAIG, KSTE and Dings Dock (see coordinates). As many of you have noticed, Waupaca was the finish line for the Airventure Cup race this year and has great service and fuel prices! Here is a link to the course on Skyvector: tinyurl.com/northwoodsairrace
We will be working with the local EAA chapter to give Young Eagle rides and the local high school shop teacher to get the teens out and get them interested in working on and building airplanes. We have been heavily promoting the race to the public and expect a great turnout. Come on out and help us promote the joy of flight!
The fun will start on Friday night with an included cookout and a few brief presentations from some of the racers about their airplanes. Saturday morning we will start with Young Eagle rides and some time for the public to come out and see our planes. The briefing will begin at 10am with a race start of 11am. We will wrap it up with an included lunch and awards ceremony.
The race entry fee of $30 includes both meals, an awesome T-shirt and a certificates for all of the racers.
Our race is sponsored by Sport Air, LLC, specializing in experimental and LSA building, maintenance and inspections and Plane Guys Aviation, LLC specializing in flight training, tailwheel instruction and LSA aircraft sales.
Hotel, shuttle and rental car info coming soon.
