I am in the market for some specific Sonerai 1 items......Namely, ailerons, bubble canopy, fuel tank, original style wingtips, Wheels/tires/brakes (Azusa)... Used parts are fine, as long as they are restorable. I can barter if there are items of mine someone may need.......I have a Jr. Ace project, and lots of Mong Sport stuff to barter. I can help out on the original style wingtips (once the sonerai.net tips are ready). If needed, I also have a spare set of 1/2" gear that may be available (if it is straight).

Joe....Thanks, I do have a gear from a different sonerai 1, and some wing tips have been promised, but I do need a fuel tank...I will probably buy a set of wheels new, when the time comes. So, the big ticket item will be the bubble......Ed

Unfortunately it has been too busy/difficult to get to the airport lately... I will donate it to the cause if deemed 'runway worthy'

Hi Ed, I didn't take any measurement or check the angles, but the 1/2" gear appears to be usable. I would check it closer and address any issues in a press if needed. No need to pay me for it, I had thoughts of using the 1/2" gear to save some weight but probably would never actually switch it out. I hope it helps you get Beetlebomb back in the air!
If the gear fits in the Culver (and I get the upcoming annual completed), maybe that would be a good enough reason for me to fly out your way for a visit.
Best Regards, Joe

Hi Ed, Still haven't got around to doing the annual on the Culver (newborn taking priority!) I thought I would give you some photos of the gear that I took this afternoon. Sometimes seeing parts gives me inspiration on my project, hope it works for you too! Joe

Thanks for the photos!!...I have a 6" dia. mandrel and a press, in case I have to tighten up a bend or two.... I recently bought tires and tubes, so I soon will be able to put #14 up on the gear!!....Ed

Joe, that's very generous. Good to know there are still folks who will do the right thing.
Ed, it's great that you are making such good progress on Beetlebomb. I'm excited about this aircraft rebuild and I've never seen it!

Tom, I wish I had the computer brain to figure out how to post pictures on this site.... My goal is to have enough done on the fuselage to get it outside, on the gear, by the warm weather , and get some photos of it .... Yes, this project is a good cause, and I appreciate all the help and interest. I think everybody knows that I just want to preserve a big piece of Sonerai and FV history......Ed

Ed, I sent you an email about how to post pics. I tried a test post under Members Aircraft, and it worked. I had to write down each step because posting pics has become so routine . . . its like describing how to tie a shoestring - far faster to do than to describe, lol. If my method works for you, I'll post the instructions here for others. If it doesn't work for you, you have my permission to curse me. ;D
